The Kansas City Bicycle Federation is a registered 501c3 non-profit and parent organization of The 816 Bicycle Collective, a community recycled bike shop. We are a volunteer organization of bicyclists dedicated to improving bicycling conditions in the greater Kansas City region.

Our members live throughout Kansas City and bicycle routinely for transportation, utilitarian and recreational reasons. All are devoted to our communities and believe bicycling can improve the quality of life, our health, the environment and the communities we live and work in.

Our community bike shop, The 816 Bicycle Collective, is a volunteer effort to repair, recycle and redistribute bicycles that would otherwise be unused and encourage riders to learn about bicycle maintenance and safety. The operation has outgrown its current location, and a new building has been purchased and assessed for estimated renovation costs.

The Kansas City Bicycle Federation and The 816 Bicycle Collective plan to use the space not only as the same functioning workshop, but also include offices for fellow bicycle advocacy organizations.
